Priska Eser

Born in  Augsburg, the soprano Priska Eser-Streit, after school, trained in ceramics before in 1987 embarking on vocal study with Nikolaus Hillebrand in Munich.  In 1993 she joined the Bavarian Radio Chorus, while developing her solo repertoire, ranging from Monteverdi, Charpentier and Rosenmüller through the oratorios of Handel and sacred music of Bach and Haydn to the major works of the Romantic period. She has also had considerable experience of new music, including, for example, Wolfgang Rihm’s Hamletmaschine and the première of Kay Westermann’s Joseph und seine Brüder.  Numerous engagements in Germany have led to appearances in Austria, France and Italy. She has collaborated with Bavarian Radio and well known orchestras in broadcasts and recordings. She is also known as a Lieder singer, performing, in particular, the songs of Mozart, Schubert and Richard Strauss.
