Thomas Ebenstein


Thomas Ebenstein was born in 1979 in Carinthia, and received his degree in singing from the Vienna University of Music. Guest appearances have led him among others, to the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the Grand Théâtre de Geneve, the Theater an der Wien, the Theater Dortmund, the Philharmonie Berlin, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Wiener Musikverein, to the Ruhrtriennale Bochum, the Wiener Festwochen, the Easter Festival in Salzburg, the Bergen International Festival and to the Hong Kong Arts Festival.​ In addition, since 2003/04 he was an ensemble member of the Komische Oper Berlin and since the 2012 season he is an ensemble member of the Wiener Staatsoper. The multi prize-winning tenor sings role such as Pedrillo, Truffaldino, David or Alfred. Last year, Thomas Ebenstein made guest appearances among others as junger Seemann in Tristan und Isolde at the Ruhrtriennale, as Alfred at the Staatsoper Berlin and as Kilian in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Recently past engagements have been among others, 1. Gralsritter at the Easter Festival in Salzburg as well as Monostatos and Valzacchi at the Semperoper, as Pedrillo at the Salzburg Festival and as jungen Seemann in Baden-Baden.
