Ryan Speedo Green


Bass-Baritone Ryan Speedo Green, from Suffolk, Virginia (USA), studied at the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera, Florida State University, and Hartt School of Music. Mr. Green appears regularly at the Metropolitan Opera with roles including Oroe (Semiramide), Colline (La Boheme), Bonzo (Madama Butterfly), Schließer (Tosca), Mandarin (Turandot), and Rambo (The Death of Klinghoffer). Recent career highlights include Ferrando (Il trovatore) at Opéra de Lille, Osmin (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) at Houston Grand Opera, 3rd King (Liebe der Danae) at the Salzburg Festival, Escamillo (Carmen) at Opera San Antonio, and his debut with the LA Philharmonic singing Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. Mr. Green has been a member of the Ensemble of the Wiener Staatsoper since September 2014, with roles including Basilio (Il babiere di Siviglia), Colline, König (Aida), Monk (Don Carlo), Titurel, Fouquier Tinville (Andrea Chénier), Pope (Lady Macbeth von Mzensk), Lord Rochefort (Anna Bolena), Komtur, Sparafucile (Rigoletto), Angelotti (Tosca), Warlaam (Boris Godunow), and Timur (Turandot).
