Francesco Meli


Tenor Francesco Meli studied at the Conservatorio Niccolo Paganini, continuing his education with Vittorio Terranova and going on to gain recognition at numerous prestigious competitions.

He has a repertoire of over 50 roles, and has performed under the world’s most eminent conductors, regularly working with Riccardo Chailly, Myung-Whun Chung, Riccardo Muti, Christian Thielemann and Antonio Pappano.

Recent engagements include La traviata at the Arena di Verona and Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, I due Foscari at Teatro La Fenice, and Don Carlo at Teatro alla Scala.

Meli is artistic director and one of the tutors at the Academy of Advanced Professional Training for opera singers at Genoa’s Teatro Carlo Felice.
