Alberto Rinaldi


Alberto Rinaldi made his début at Spoleto in the title rôle of Simone Boccanegra. This was followed by engagements in leading theatres throughout Italy. He made his début at La Scala in Milan in 1966 as Ottone in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, the beginning of an international career that took him to Covent Garden, Glyndebourne, the Paris Opéra, La Monnaie in Brussels, the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian Opera in Munich, Cologne, Zurich and elsewhere. In America he appeared at the Metropolitan Opera, Chicago, and San Francisco, and was a frequent performer at La Scala. He had a number of recordings to his credit, performing with conductors and colleagues of the highest distinction.
